Before we even start designing on a project, it’s important to us that we understand the context of the place where we are building. In the Brooklyn neighborhoods where we have lived and worked for years, this can be relatively easy. But as we expand our efforts in other cities, we feel it’s worthwhile to put a more focused effort into learning about the local conditions. These diagrams were part of an independent research project we completed to better understand the character and needs of adjacent Fort Worth communities. This wasn’t tied to any one specific project, rather we hope to gain an understanding of the city and it’s citizens that will guide our design work on all of the projects we take on in the city.
