Designed by I.M. Pei, these apartment towers were built in 1969 for the New York Dormitory Authority. Now, the towers house over 338 faculty apartment units. The aim of the lobby renovation was to remove the security guard from the outer vestibule and establish a central security position within the inner lobby. This, combined with new mailbox positions at either end of the front foyer, better utilizes the floor area of the entry level and provides a more welcoming entry. The intensity of the color grows as the visitor moves further into the space.
